The Beltrami County Master Gardeners invite you to our Spring Garden Party! This educational event will feature 3 local experts, door prizes, refreshments, and informational booths to help our community get the gardening season kicked off! Jim Walla, Ph.D., will present on The Edible Forest in Fargo, focusing on the display gardens and tours available to the public. Jim, a lifelong tree enthusiast and former research scientist at NDSU, now runs Northern Tree Specialties, where he propagates specialty trees, provides research-based consulting, and volunteers with Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society. For those who look forward to flowers each year, Tyler Olson, co-owner of Nature’s Edge Garden Center in Bemidji, will present Vibrant and Versatile: Mastering Annuals for Every Season. Nature’s Edge is a full-service garden center and landscaping company, which recently expanded to offer a floral division offering arrangements for all occasions. For the vegetable gardeners, Erik Heimark, an experienced agriculture and farm business management instructor and co-founder of Maple Ridge Produce in Aitkin, MN, will present on Vegetable Gardening. Maple Ridge Produce is a year-round vegetable farm with a farm stand offering local foods and arts in addition to their high quality vegetables.
