Guest Speaker; Dr. Allan Chapman of Wedham College, Oxford University The people of over 400 years ago were not as serious as we might think. They loved jokes, entertainments, and laughter: in pubs, at fairs, in the theatres, and at home. The invention of the printing press gave us the first joke books, along with books of horror tales, legends, and ghost stories, telling us what made them roar with laughter and shiver with humorous fear. And what made them laugh, often makes us laugh today. This event is a preview of what you will experience if you participate in EuroSpring.
