SUMMARY:Garden Tool Swap
DESCRIPTION:The Bemidji State Sustainability Office will be hosting a Garden Tool Swap Event. The swap is not necessarily a one-to-one swap\, but follows a model of "bring what you can\, take what you need." The goal is to bring together local gardeners in an effort to reduce the amount of usable gardening tools that end up in landfills.\n\n\n\nAttendees can bring quality items they no longer need or want\, and explore the pool of items for things they may need. Participants are highly encouraged to bring items for the swap\, but are not required to.\n\n\n\nDonations may be dropped off at the Beaux Arts Ballroom starting at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Larger items\, such as lawn mowers and wheel barrels\, will not be accepted. Please see the full list of accepted items below.\n\nFor questions\, or if you would like to drop off items prior to the event\, email andrew.miller@bemidjistate.edu\n\n\n\nAccepted Items:\n\nGarden/yard tools (shovels\, trowels\, rakes\, pitchforks\, hoses\, etc.)\n\nPots and planters\n\nPotting soil/mix\n\nSmall power and hand tools (hammers\, hand saws\, screw drivers\, power drills\, etc)\n\nGarden art and decor\n\nBird houses and feeders\n\n\n\nPlease refrain from bringing the following:\n\nChemicals of any kind (fertilizers\, pesticides\, etc)\n\nItems that are broken beyond repair\n\nItems that are too large to carry*\n\n\n\n*The Northwoods Habitat for Humanity Restore accepts some larger items on an as needed basis.
